Bulk Edit

Bulk editing allows you to quickly assign attributes to multiple questions at the same time.

Normally, question attributes are assigned one question at a time using the Question Editor. When many questions require the same attribute changes, bulk editing can save a significant amount of time.

Opening Bulk Edit

1. Open the Question Bank window.
2. Select a question bank.
3. Select two or more questions in the question list.
4. Click the Bulk Edit button.

The Question Editor will open in bulk edit mode.

Attributes That Can Be Modified

Bulk edit can be used to modify the following question attributes:

• Difficulty level
• Question matching (index groups)
• Topics
• Resources
• Images

Changing Difficulty

The difficulty level can be assigned to all selected questions at once.

This is useful when importing questions or organizing a question bank and many questions belong to the same difficulty level.

Matching Questions

Questions that are similar enough to be considered the same question can be matched together.

When questions are matched:

• They are assigned the same index number.
• They become members of the same index group.
• PrimeExam treats them as related versions of the same question.

This helps prevent multiple versions of essentially the same question from appearing on the same generated exam.

Assigning Topics

One or more topics can be assigned to all selected questions.

This is useful when importing or organizing large groups of questions that belong to the same subject area.

Assigning Resources

Resources such as textbooks and online references can be assigned to all selected questions.

This allows related questions to be associated with the same source material.

Assigning Images

Images can be associated with all selected questions.

This is useful when multiple questions reference the same diagram, graph, or illustration.

Saving Changes

After making the desired changes, click the Save button.

Bulk edit operations affect all selected questions. Review your selections carefully before applying changes.
